IP Configuration for Macs
Configuring a Mac for the Internet (in the Earth and Marine Sciences building), including browsing the web, sending/receiving email, SSH and FTP access, and other things, is a simple matter.
Click on the Apple Menu, the click "Control Panels" -> "TCP/IP". The TCP/IP control panel should open. Under the "Connect via:" option, select "Ethernet". Under the "Configure:" option, select "Using DHCP Server".
Reboot your machine, and you should have access to network resources should as web browsing, email, etc.
